How to Throw the Ultimate Super Bowl Party

February 12th – the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Do you know what that means? It's time to start planning a killer Super Bowl party. We wait all year for this day. This moment in time to party with friends. Oh, and to watch a football game.

From setting up your party space to food and drinks to ideas for entertainment, let us help you plan an awesome Super Bowl party!

Planning Makes Perfect

Send Invitations

Do you have your guest list ready? Send out invitations. Most of us utilize social media to organize events now. Create an event, and don't be afraid to be cheesy. Be over the top. After all, it is the football game of all football games! Create ridiculous football-themed evites, or use a wild and crazy cover photo in your event. Make sure to include an RSVP so you know how to plan.

Go crazy. Mix up ages and fandom levels with friends and family, co-workers, etc. Football is about community, and you might be surprised how easy it is to connect with others when you're screaming and shouting at the TV screen.

Football Fuel

Food is a vital part of any Super Bowl Party. There are plenty of game-day staples you want to include. Wings, fries, pizza, chips, and dips are all great options. Or you can choose to go big or go home and offer foods to represent each team playing.

Add regional dishes to your match the teams: Philly cheesesteaks, roast pork sandwiches, or Philly soft pretzels for the Philadelphia Eagles. Chili and Cinnamon rolls, barbeque brisket, burnt ends, or cheesy corn bake for the Kansas City Chiefs. If you really want to celebrate, have each guest bring their own dish that represents their favorite team. This makes eating fun.

If you are through a Super Bowl party that encompasses all ages, be sure to have both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks available. You may choose the BYOB route but have extra on hand just in case. Always have more than you think you will need. Trust me; you will thank us later.

Entertainment on and off the Field

The best thing about a Super Bowl party is that the entertainment is built in. Pregame shows begin at 2 p.m., but it can't hurt to have a few things planned before the big game. If the weather cooperates in your area, get outside, and play cornhole or bocce ball. You may even want to start your own game of football with your guests and battle it out pregame.

Create a bingo game with all things Super Bowl, like key plays or celebrity cameos in commercials.

Rate and rank commercials during the game. Have prizes for the winners of each game too. Who doesn't like to walk away a winner?

Take it Outside

If you live where the weather will allow it, take your party outside. Grab a white sheet or use a blank wall and a projector to watch the game on the big screen. Be sure to have plenty of tables and chairs, or ask your guests to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Have ice chests or tubs filled with ice and drinks. Hang up string lights and get the feel of being at the game under the lights.

Grab Your Gear

You will definitely want to stock up on fan gear. You can choose which team you want to cheer for or decorate for both teams and have fun. Set up with plenty of drinkware, plates, etc. If you are a die-hard fan, don't forget to put out your favorite pictures and memorabilia. Wrap up in your team blankets and remind your guests which team you support.

And don't forget the baseball hats and jerseys. Just because you can't be at the game doesn't mean you can't wear your favorite quarterback's number! Or celebrate all the fun that the Super Bowl has to offer.

Take Photos

Grab your phones and take selfies. Don't forget to capture these moments in time. We all have our phones in our back pockets. Take the selfie, take the group photos, and forever freeze the fun. Renting a photo booth for the evening could even be a fun option. Make sure you get some great shots and include everyone there.

Make it Virtual

Do you have football fan friends scattered around the country? Include a virtual party! Zoom, Teams, and Google Hangouts are great platforms for hosting a virtual Super Bowl party. Don't let distance keep you from including all your friends. Watch the game, enjoy snacks, and have tons of fun.

Start planning now for the biggest game night of the year! It doesn't matter which team you choose to cheer for. At the end of the night, we all care about food and friendship.
